As a Resident Assistant (RA), you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive and supportive living environment for your fellow students. You’ll have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build lasting friendships, and make a real impact on the Hilbert College community.
RA Qualifications & Responsibilities
To be a successful Resident Advisor, you must be a current Hilbert College student with strong leadership and communication skills. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team. Lastly, a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive community is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with residents
- Enforce residence hall rules and regulations
- Assist with resident concerns and questions
- Organize and facilitate social and educational programs
- Serve as a role model for other students
- Respond to emergencies on a rotating basis
Application Process
- Submit Your Application through Handshake
- Resume Review: Your resume will be reviewed by the Office of Career Development.
- Recommendation Letters: Submit two letters of recommendation from faculty or staff.
- Group Process: Participate in a group activity to assess your leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Individual Interview: Selected candidates will be invited to a 30-minute interview with Residence Life staff.
