To be considered for financial aid, students must complete the FAFSA each year. Create your FSA ID which you will use to electronically sign your FAFSA.

Dependent students must also have their parents create an FSA ID so they can electronically sign the student’s FAFSA as well. If you have questions about your DEPENDENCY status, please see a financial aid counselor.

If you are a full-time NYS resident, make sure you apply for the New York State TAP Grant online at hesc.ny.gov.

You may also want to apply for the Enhanced Tuition Award at Enhanced Tuition Award (ETA) when it becomes available every May.

Once you have been admitted into Hilbert College and your FAFSA has been successfully processed (if applicable), you will receive a financial aid award letter, through the mail and sent to the email you put on your FAFSA application.

This letter will outline the scholarships, grants, loans, and other financial aid for which you are eligible to receive. Be sure to review your award carefully and follow any instructions provided to accept or decline your aid package.

Complete any additional requirements located on your financial aid portal.

All billing is done electronically through Nelnet, our third-party online payment processor. E-bills are delivered from campuscommerce.com to your Hilbert email in June for fall, December for spring, and May for summer semesters and are generally due within 30 days.

You can access your e-bill by choosing Payment Options on the Finance Tab of your Self-service portal. If you find that you have not earned enough financial aid to cover your initial costs, please meet with a student finance counselor to go over payment plan options. A four-month payment plan is available on Nelnet by the due date.

Additional loans options include Direct PLUS Loan Application for Parents or Private loan options for students which can be found on https://www.elmselect.com/v4/ .
