2. How do I get to Hilbert?
Hilbert is easy to reach and only 10 miles south of Buffalo, N.Y. For detailed directions and a map, click here.
4. How long do I have until I must decide on a major?
Students must declare a major upon application and are accepted directly into their academic program. You can easily change to another major if you decide to do so.
5. How do I apply?
Complete an application (there's a free application available online) and send it with your $25 application fee, an official high school transcript to Hilbert College, Office of Admissions, 5200 South Park Ave., Hamburg, N.Y. 14075. 6. When should I apply?
Hilbert has a rolling admissions policy, which means that applications are accepted year round. Early action on your part increases the opportunity to receive financial assistance beyond federal/state sources. We strongly urge you to complete the FAFSA/TAP applications as soon as possible so eligibility for financial aid can be determined.
7. When and how do I register?
Before you may register for classes, you must be admitted to Hilbert, take any necessary placement tests, and then meet with your academic advisor in your department for registration. Courses offered and registration times for each semester are available [online], or in a printed copy circulated by the college. You may also contact the admissions office at 716-649-7900 or 1-800-649-8003 to obtain a copy.
8. Do I need my ACT or SAT results to submit an application?
No, the SAT and ACT are not required for acceptance. If you submit these tests, they will be used for placement and scholarship consideration.
10. Is an interview required for the admission process?
No. In some cases, however, an interview may be needed to clarify admission issues that are not apparent through an evaluation of your submitted materials.
13. Can I obtain college credit at Hilbert while still attending high school?
Yes, our Early Admissions and Advanced College Credit programs permit eligible high school students to take courses for college credit at Hilbert either during the summer between their junior and senior years or while simultaneously registered in high school. These programs provide different options for obtaining college credit while in high school. 14. What is the Advanced College Credit Program?
Students who have completed their junior year in high school and high school seniors may apply for the program, which permits high school students to begin taking courses for college credit at Hilbert during the summer after their junior year in high school.
15. What is the Hilbert Honors Program?
The Hilbert Honors Program is designed to offer an enriched educational experience for top college students. While we are looking for students who represent the highest caliber of academic excellence, we are also looking for students whose life choices outside of the classroom demonstrate leadership skills, social commitment or artistic interests.
