Bachelor of Science Degree
Typical forensic science degrees focus on natural sciences in laboratory settings where evidence is analyzed. Crime scene investigation, on the other hand, involves the proper identification, collection, and chain of custody of evidence to the forensic lab for analysis. Hilbert will provide a blend of the two areas with a strong emphasis on crime scene investigation and how it relates to the forensic lab.
Coursework includes Crime Scene Photography, laws and rules of evidence, photography, bloodstain pattern analysis, fingerprint evidence, and trace analysis. This background promotes a stronger, more precise relationship between the crime scene unit and the forensic lab responsible for crime analysis. In addition, this coursework is embedded within a well-balanced physical and social science bachelor's degree.
