Fort Pierce, FL – In the Hilbert College baseball trip to Florida, the Hawks came up empty, losing a battle against Rutgers-Camden, 3-1 on Sunday, March 11.
Sophomore Frank Mancuso had the one RBI double, scoring senior Chris Hoak who went 2-for-3 at the plate. Collectively, the Hawks had seven hits, with contributions from seniors Jim Pernick, Pat Lagueras, sophomore Joe Pernick and freshman Derek Mort.
Junior pitcher Garrett Pauly picked up the loss on the mound, pitching through six innings and tallying three strike-outs and one earned run.
The Hawks were scheduled to play a double-header against Rutgers-Camden, but a rain delay put those plans on hold. They will look to make-up the game while still in Florida. Their next scheduled game is for 10am on Monday, March 12 when they will play Delaware Valley College in a standard 9-inning game.
