Volleyball Ends Season at Altoona

ALTOONA, PA – Led by hot-hitting Robin Tabaka (.529), the Penn State Altoona women’s volleyball team completed a perfect 9-0 AMCC season as they defeated Hilbert College October 29. Jordan Botsford finished her freshman season with 7 kills and 8 digs for the Hawks (6-16, 2-7) in the 3-set loss (25-15, 25-14, 25-17). Altoona earned the 1st seed in the AMCC play-offs which begin November 1.
As the only Hawk to play all 75 sets this season, Shannon Memminger passed for 12 sets many to Botsford. Rachel Kwiatkowski led the visitors with 12 digs and 2 blocks.
Altoona’s Samantha Link was the one player on the court to hit a double double with 13 kills and 10 digs which she paired with 3 service aces. Kelsie Bumbarge distributed 31 assists mainly between Link and Tabaka (10 kills).
Hilbert completed their 2011 season at Altoona.
