ERIE, PA – Penn State Behrend’s Emily Lewis scored twice to lead the Lions to a 7-0 shut-out win over the Hilbert women’s soccer team October 19. In a span of twenty-nine minutes, the home team took over the game and sent Hilbert to intermission down 5-0. Behrend improved to 5-2 in AMCC standing as they continue to fight for third place heading into post season.
Hilbert (7-8, 2-5) struggled to generate any offense as they were outshot 19-1 for the game. Sarah Schmidt was credited with the lone shot in the 77th minute.
The women’s soccer team will host Altoona October 22 in their last home contest for the 2011 season. Prior to start of the second game, the women’s team will honor their six seniors – Julie Bossard, Alyssa Hulbert, Jill Matucci, Kayla Norman, Jessie Roland-Bystrak and Mary Zinni.
