Blackboard
Blackboard is the College's online courseware. The courseware is used for online classes as well as offline and on-campus courses. Blackboard serves as a repository for materials, lectures, grades, and any other content the course instructor elects to place on the site.
Access to Blackboard is coordinated through the same user name and password used to access the school's network, but omits the "@hilbert.edu" portion of the username.

Frequently Asked HCOnline Questions:
- My Blackboard login page says I've been disabled.
We disable unneeded accounts when a student is not enrolled for a given semester, including summer semester due to licensing requirements. If your account has been disabled and you're to return next semester, it will be automatically reinstated at that time. We will be unable to reactivate your Blackboard account if you are not a currently enrolled student. There will be no exceptions to this policy. If you ARE currently enrolled and find your account still disabled after the start of classes, please email us.
- I'm signed up for course X, but it's not appearing on Blackboard. Can you add it?
During the drop/add period, it may take 24 hours for your class to be added. If after two days your class is still missing, please stop in. Please bring your registration information.
- Isn't Blackboard mail (blackboard.hilbert.edu) and Hilbert Email (mail.hilbert.edu) the same?
No. They are seperate messaging servers and services. Blackboard uses an internal messaging system that remains within that system. Hilbert Email is email that is connected with the Internet outside of the college. There, you can send mail internal to the college (e.g., a professor) send mail to a job recruiter on the outside, or even friends and family. When someone emails you at username@hilbert.edu, the Hilbert Email inbox is where it will end up. Instructors utilize both messaging systems, so check them frequently.
- I dropped a course but it's still appearing under my courses in Blackboard.
Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to remove any dropped courses from your view in Blackboard. If you chose to however, you can simply 'hide' it by clicking the Edit button to the right off the course name to remove it from the current list.
