Hawks Continue to Improve, Finish Fifth at Own Invitational

Ryan Ratajczak’s 85 score led the Hawks to a fifth place finish in their Third Annual Hilbert Invitational golf match September 7.
Penn State Behrend tapped the top two medalist spots as they captured the team championship with a 320 score. Bradford trailed by fifteen strokes to claim second place followed by Medaille (338), D’Youville (350), Hilbert (356) and Houghton (367).
Ratajczak finished tied for 10th, and was followed by Karl Blomback who shot an 88 (T-14); Jake Rienecke finished with a 90 (T19) and Jason Tabaczynski stroked out at 93. Also playing for the Hawks was Ryan Tofil (93).
The Hawks dropped 53 strokes off their Hilbert Invitational score from the 2011 season and have beaten last year’s stroke average by 27 swings already.
The Hawks will continue to practice at Gowanda until their next match. Penn State Behrend hosts their Invitational a Peek N’Peak course on September 20.
