HAMBURG, NY – Coach Amanda Logue, returning for her third season, will lead the Hilbert women’s volleyball team in their season-opener in the AMCC (Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference vs. NEAC (North Eastern Athletic Conference) Challenge hosted by D’Youville College, September 3. The two AMCC schools (Hilbert and D’Youville) will face the two NEAC institutions (Keuka and Morrisville) on side-by-side courts during the afternoon tri-match. Hilbert faces Keuka College at 1pm and Morrisville at 3pm.
The last time the two schools met on the volleyball court in 2008, Hilbert split with the Storm 1-1. The Hawks took the first meeting 3-1 on a neutral court only to lose the second match at Keuka 3-0.
During the 2010 season, Hilbert captured both games with a 6-1 set-record against Morrisville. Both meetings were on neutral courts at multi-team tournaments or tri-match events.
The Hawks have to wait until September 21 till they play their first home match against Elmira College’s junior varsity team (7pm). Fans who can’t wait until the 21st, can catch Hilbert in action September 15 when they travel to North Buffalo and compete at Buffalo State College (7pm).
