HC Volleyball Team Stormed by LEC

HAMBURG, NY – The Lake Erie College Storm took three games from the Hilbert College women’s volleyball team winning 30-17, 30-15, and 30-26 on Thursday. The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s (AMCC) 4th place team improved to 11-18 overall and 5-2 in league play. The Hawks remain tied for eight place and fall to 4-15, 0-5.
Hilbert’s Kristy Gonciarz (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) recorded seven kills and Laura Stranc (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) dished out 12 assists and 12 digs. The Hawks Ashton Vertalino (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) contributed 13 digs in the losing effort.
Hilbert will travel to Central Pennsylvania Saturday for a match at conference foe Mount Aloysius College (14-12, 3-2) at 10:00 am. The Hawks will then head across town to face the AMCC’s second place team, Penn State Altoona (12-10, 5-0) at 1:00 pm.
