HAMBURG, NY – Penn State Behrend took three straight games (30-8, 30-16, 30-26) for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win over Hilbert College last night in women’s volleyball action. The league leading Lions improve to 13-0 (2-0) with the win while the Hawks fall to 2-10 (0-2).
Destyn Brown (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) led the Hawks with five kills and five assists. Laura Stranc (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) recorded five assists and two aces, while teammate Rachel Edwards (Westfield, NY/Westfield) was credited with five digs.
‘We played a good third game,” said Hawks coach Tim Clauss. “I thought we showed good transition off of defensive digs.”
The Hawks hit the road this weekend for a tri-match at conference foe Frostburg State on Saturday. Hilbert will square off against the Bobcats at 11:00 am on Saturday and then face Goucher College at 1:00 pm.
