LEC Storms Hawks for 3-0 Volleyball Win

PAINESVILLE, OH – The Lake Erie College Storm took three straight games from the visiting Hilbert College Hawks women’s volleyball team Wednesday night to earn an important 30-19, 30-20, 30-14 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match. The win improves the Storm to 8-21 overall and 4-4 in the AMCC while keeping their post-season hopes alive.
Despite the loss, Hilbert (1-24, 0-8) received six kills and six digs from Ashton Vertalino (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg), eight kills and five digs from Keri Bush (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), and 20 assists and 10 digs from Laura Stranc (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East).
The Hawks return to action at home this Saturday to close out the season with a tri-match against AMCC foe Penn State Altoona and local rival, D’Youville College. Action gets underway at 12:00 pm.
