PSB Handles HC in Volleyball

ERIE, PA – League leading Penn State Behrend took three straight games from visiting Hilbert College last night in women’s NCAA volleyball action. The host Behrend Lions (15-7/3-0) sent the Hawks home with their third loss in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) after winning 30-16, 30-17, 30-13.
Nicolette Newton (Forestville, NY/Forestville) led the Hawks with six kills and Ashton Vertalino (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) chipped in with 10 digs. Laura Stranc (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) added 13 assists in a losing effort.
The Hawks (1-14/0-3) will travel to AMCC foe University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg on Saturday, October 8th for a 1:00 pm contest with the Bobcats (5-17/2-1).
