HAMBURG, N.Y. – The D’Youville College Spartans women’s volleyball team had to work extra hard to put away Hilbert College Tuesday night, 30-21, 30-26, and 30-28. The loss drops the Hawks to 1-2 on the season.

“Each game we fought harder and harder to overcome their early leads,”said first year Hilbert head coach Shannon Steinwandel.

Amy Anderson (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) paced the Hawks with eight kills while Lynn Workman (Newfane, NY/Newfane) came up with 11 digs. Jamie O’Connor (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) recorded five blocks in a losing effort.

The Hawks will play their fourth straight home contest at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 against Point Park College.
