Grosch Leads Hawks in Defeat

Erie, PA – Penn State Behrend (13-4, 9-2) took a 49-10 half time lead and turned it into a 86-26 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory over Hilbert College in women’s basketball January 26th. The Lions are 11-2 since December 1st and are currently working on a 4-game win streak. Hilbert’s Amber Grosch (Depew, NY/Depew) scored half the Hawks points (13) and pulled down 6 rebounds in 39 minutes of play. Hilbert drops to 0-11 in conference and 1-16 overall.
Behrend was led by freshman Natalie Corso with 18 points (6 for 7 behind the arc) in 12 minutes of play. The home team shot 45% behind the three-point line and out-rebounded the Hawks by 17. Hilbert surrendered 21 offensive rebounds to the taller Lions who also finished the game with 30 steals.
Up next for the Haws is a home game against Pitt-Greensburg (4-15, 4-8) on January 29th with a 2pm tip.
