Hamburg, NY – After a brief holiday break from competition, the Hilbert women’s basketball team traveled to 20th ranked Medaille College Wednesday, January 5th. The Hawks had a rough start shooting the ball, and they watched the Mavericks gallop off to a 82-35 conference victory. Medaille jumps to 10-1 on the year and remains undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play at 5-0. Hilbert drops to 1-9 on the season and 0-4 in the AMCC
Hilbert’s junior transfer Magan Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Bennett/ECC) put 18 points on the board and senior Amanda Dudek (Tonawanda, NY/Tonawanda) grabbed a team-leading 9 rebounds. Hilbert was outrebounded by the taller Mavericks (45-33) giving up 16 offensive boards.
Hilbert hosts an AMCC weekend double-header against Franciscan University of Steubenville on Saturday January 8th and Penn State Altoona on Sunday, January 9th. Both matchups begin at 1pm.
