Hamburg, NY – The Second Annual Meghan Memorial race took place under perfect conditions for a cross country meet on Saturday, October 2 at Frontier high school. Sixty-two runners were part of a remembrance day to celebrate Meghan Sorbera’s love for running and the spirit of Halloween in October. Hilbert College hosted the three-team event which resulted in The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford winning the men’s side while the D’Youville College squad took first place in the women’s race.
Bradford’s Michael Evans took top honors with an 18:18 time in the 5K race as Anya Bogdaneets from D’Youville College captured the women’s race in 20:01. Hilbert finished third in both the men's and the women's scoring with sophomore Jimmy Campbell (Owego, NY/Owego) completing first for the Hawks (19:20) and Lanie Harrington (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) crossing in 31:43 for the women’s team.
