Golden Flyers Nip Hawks In Final Series

The Hilbert College softball team dropped their last series of the season to Nazareth College on April 29, 2009, by scores of 6-2 and 10-1. The losses drop the Hawk’s record to 6-31 overall.
In the first game, Hilbert trailed Nazareth 4-2 going into the sixth inning. The Golden Flyers brought two runs across in the sixth, and the Hawks were unable to do any damage in the seventh inning.
Rachel Parker (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) led the Hawks in game one, going 1-3 at the dish, and recorded both Hilbert RBIs.
In game two, Hilbert trailed 6-1 after four innings. Nazareth scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth, to seal the victory for the home team. Hilbert was held to just four hits in game two.
Kelly Goodwin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) was 2-3 with a run scored in the second game. Halsey Baker (Scio, NY/Scio) went 1-3 and recorded Hilbert’s lone RBI.
