HC’s Fie Earns All-AMCC Softball Honors

GIBSONIA, PA – Hilbert College softball player Amber Fie (Olean, NY/Olean) has been named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference 2005 All-Conference Second Team. Fie led the Hawks to the 2005 AMCC Conference Tournament with an 11-14 record overall, and a 9-9 finish in AMCC play.
The sophomore catcher led the Hawks in 10 different offensive categories while finishing tied for first in three other statistical areas. Her .425 batting average ranks her seventh in the AMCC while finishing tied for first in runners picked off with two.
Prior to Hilbert’s arrival in the AMCC this past year, Fie was a two-time North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) selection, and the NEAC Player of the Year in 2003.
Hilbert College, located in suburban Hamburg, N.Y., south of Buffalo, is a private four-year college founded in 1957 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition.
