HAMBURG, NY – For the first time this season, senior Alyssa Hulbert has been named as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference women’s soccer Player of the Week. Released every Monday afternoon, Hulbert became the fourth week’s honoree September 26.

Hulbert nailed the game winning PK in a 2-1 overtime win against Thiel (9/22) then followed that up with another game-decider against Pitt-Greensburg to open AMCC play (9/24). With two goals and an assist against Chatham University (9/20), Hulbert finished with 11 points on the week and drove the Hawks to three victories.

During the first nine games to date, Hulbert leads the Hawks with 19 points (eight goals, three assists) and 28 shots-on-goal.  She has scored two or more goals on three different occasions.  In the team's 11-1 drubbing of Penn State Beaver, Hulbert earned her first hat-trick of the season.

With a 6-3 overall record, the Hawks have bettered last season’s win record (5-12) at this point and they have tied the AMCC record from a season ago (1-8). First year head coach, Kelly Starchok-Gillow (Tonawanda) leads the soccer team into the meat of their conference season with their next match set for October 1 at Franciscan University.
