The Hilbert College women’s soccer team dropped a tough, hard fought, tightly played 1-0 decision to Clarkson University on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Knights managed the game’s only goal in the 45th minute. Clarkson’s Cait Markes notched the lone tally with 1 second remaining in the first half.

In the second half the teams played each other to a scoreless draw. Although the Hawks were outshot 29-7, they were very much in the game until the final gun.

Senior goalie Kelly Goodwin (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) turned in a stellar performance in net, stopping 22 shots and kept the Hawks alive in the contest.

The Hawks return to action Sept. 7 against Bethany College at home.
