KANSAS CITY, KS – Hilbert College women’s soccer players Katrina Galofaro (Dunkirk, NY/Silver Creek) and Jenifer Wade (Buffalo, NY/Mount Mercy) have been named Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention selections by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The NSCAA is the largest coaches' organization in the United States. Since its founding in 1941, it has grown to include more than 23,000 members who coach both genders at all levels of the sport. In addition to a national rankings program for colleges and high schools, the NSCAA offers an extensive recognition program that presents nearly 10,000 individual awards every year.
“I am extremely happy for both Katrina and Jennifer being recognized by the NSCAA/Adidas selection committee,” said Hilbert coach James Ruggiero. “Both of these student-athletes are wonderful examples of how academics and athletics can complement each other.”
Galofaro carries a 3.62 GPA and will graduate this spring with a degree in criminal justice. Just a junior, Wade carries a 3.69 GPA and is also pursuing a degree in criminal justice.
Hilbert College, located in suburban Hamburg, N.Y., south of Buffalo, is a private four-year college founded in 1957 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition. With nearly 1,100 students, Hilbert is a dynamic Western New York college that offers career-focused majors, including one of the top criminal justice programs in the region, and more than 50 minors and concentrations. The college’s engaging, student-centered campus community offers numerous leadership, internship and service learning opportunities from which students launch successful careers while making positive changes in their communities. Hilbert has expanded its academic offerings with the college’s first graduate programs, one a master’s in criminal justice administration and the other a master’s in public administration, and new Accelerated Degree Programs geared to adult learners.
