Wilson Top Runner at AMCC Championship

Pittsburgh, PA – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference held the women’s cross country championships October 30 at Schenley Park with all ten member institutions participating. Franciscan University of Steubenville, led by freshman Nicole Krajewski, won their third straight women’s conference title. The Barons captured 5 of the top ten positions securing the low score of 28 points. Krajewski (18:36.0) out-distanced D’Youville College’s Anya Bogdanets by 15 seconds stealing the championship from Bogdanets who consistently had been named AMCC Runner of the Week since September.
Running in her first race of the year, junior Laura Wilson (Buffalo, NY/Grover Cleveland) was the fastest Hilbert runner (38th place) in 27:16.4. The Hawks 9th place finish (236 points) was supported by Lanie Harrington (29:41.0), Stephanie Layman (32:26.6), Stephanie Smith (38:34.6) and Sam Mattocks (39:45.6).
