HAMBURG, NY - The Hilbert College (1-2) women's basketball team held off Alfred University 58-47 in a foul stricken game Tuesday night at the Hafner Recreation Center. The win avenges a 44-69 loss to the Saxons from earlier in the season.

The host Hawks led 25-18 at the half and outscored Alfred 33-29 in the second half. Poor free throw shooting proved to be the difference for the Saxons as they converted on 13 of 25 opportunities while the Hawks hit 70% to secure the win. Both teams combined for 76 free throw attempts as a total of 60 fouls plagued both teams.

Katya Kroll-Haeick (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Jackie Orlando (Buffalo, NY/Lackawanna) led the way combining for 20 points eight rebounds for the winners. Alfred's Kylene Knoll of led all scores with 11 points.

The Hawks return to action next Tuesday, November 22nd when they travel to Rochester Institue of Technology for a 7:00 pm game against the Tigers.
