Gerhard Tabbed as NECVA West Player of the Week

The Northeast Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) announced today that Hilbert College senior Robert Gerhard (Angola, NY/Lakeshore) has been named NECVA Western Division Player of the Week for the week of February 9, 2009.

For the week, the outside hitter averaged 5.83 points, 5.33 kills, 2.33 digs and .50 aces per set and hit .313. Gerhard had 16 kills (.314) and nine digs in a loss to D’Youville and 16 kills (.313), five digs and two aces in a loss to Stevenson.

Gerhard’s steady play is a big reason why the Hawks are off to their best start in program history at 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the NECVA Western Division.
