HAMBURG, NY – For the first time this season, sophomore Adam Weaver has been named as the United Volleyball Conference men’s volleyball Player of the Week, announced Monday March 5.

Weaver totaled 43 kills in Hilbert’s win over Wells and Lancaster Bible in the tri-match on March 3. He hit .500 with 15 kills in the Hawks’ sweep of Wells and totaled 28 kills in a five-set win over Lancaster Bible, hitting .469. Weaver averaged 5.38 kills and 2.71 digs per set, while posting a .479 hitting percentage.
Just last week, Weaver was named the Allegany Mountain Collegiate Conference men’s volleyball Player of the Week. To date, Weaver leads the Hawks with 2.94 kills per set and 382 attacks in 51 sets played. He also records 1.45 digs per set and has tallied 4 service aces for the season.
With an overall record of 5-11, including winning three out of their last four games, the Hawks are on a surge upward as they still have a lot of games left to play. Next up is an AMCC cross-town rival match versus host D’Youville College on March 7. Hilbert will be traveling to a series of league-opponents before they close out their home contests on March 21 against Penn State Behrend at 7pm.
