Men's Volleyball Drops Two Games

ELMIRA, NY - The men's volleyball team dropped two games today during day two of the Elmira College volleyball tournament. The Hawks lost to Thiel College, 3-0 before dropping to the hosts, Elmira in three as well.
In the first game, Fred Sickau led the offense, hitting 35.7% (connecting on seven kills out of 14 attempts). Stephen Phillips passed for 21 assists and also had six digs, Adam Weaver added eight kills, and Adam Clabo earned six digs in the 25-13, 25-15, 25-13 loss to Thiel. Against Elmira, Sickau again led with seven kills and three digs, but this time Ryan Ratajczak earned seven digs in the 25-19, 25-9, 25-17 defeat. Phillips paced the Hawks, contributing 20 assists, while Weaver contribued another eight kills to end the tournament.
Hilbert hosts their home-opener January 28 against Thiel College (1 pm) after starting the season at the Elmira Tournament January 21 and 22.
