HAMBURG, NY - Senior Alyssa Hulbert (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) has been named the Hilbert College Student-Athlete of the Month for September, 2011.
Hulbert was a work-horse on the field for the Hawks during the first month of the season. The midfielder started all 9 games and led the team in shots, goals and points. As an aggressive midfielder, Hulbert out-maneuvered the opposing team’s defense finding ways to take 46 shots with 28 of the shots on frame and 8 soring past the goal keeper for scores. Her 19 points (three assists) were team leading for the 6-3 (1-0) Hawks in the first month of the season. She scored two or more goals in three games and earned the season’s first hat-trick against Penn State Beaver. Hulbert ranked number two in AMCC league standings in shots, goals, and points for the month of September.
On September 26, Hulbert was honored as the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week after she scored back-to-back game winning goals against Thiel College and AMCC foe Pitt-Greensburg. One game earlier, Hulbert scored twice with one assist in the Hawks win at Chatham University.
Hulbert is a criminal justice major and currently carries a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
