Brooks Leads Hawks at Bradford Invitational

MARSHBURG, PA – The Hilbert College golf team participated in the Bradford Invitational at the Pine Acres Country Club on Saturday, September 4. Under the direction of a new head coach Andy Dvornski, Pat Brooks (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) led the Hawks with the team’s best score of 90. As a team, Hilbert finished the 72-par course in 9th place with an overall score of 384.
Mac Wolfe (Mount Aloysius) shot a 71 for medal honors while the team from Daemen College grabbed the top spot with a 301 overall score.
Hilbert’s other scorers were Jim Pernick (Tonawanda, NY/St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute) who shot a 95, John Nowak (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) with a 98, and Mitch Rojeck (West Seneca, NY/Hamburg) who shot a 101. Gary Gawera (Eden, NY/Eden) was the 5th golfer whose 102 score did not count in the team’s total.
Following Daemen was Mount Aloysius (310), La Roche (319), Penn State Behrend (321), Bradford (332), Greensburg (334), Medaille (337) and D’Youville (357).
The Hawks return to action this Friday when they host their second annual Hilbert Invitational at Gowanda Country Club. The scramble match begins at 10:30 am. Follow this (link) for driving directions from Hilbert’s campus.
