PITTSBURGH, PA – Hilbert College’s Frank Mancuso and Nick Sherman have been recognized as Players of Week in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for the week ending April 17.

Mancuso (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga) {in photo to left} was named the AMCC Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts at the plate and on first base. The freshman led the Hawks hitting .700 (7 for 10) scoring 3 runs and knocking in 4RBI’s during the team’s 4 games last week. Defensively, his long outstretched arms and leg-stride beat out several runners at first base which were instrumental plays in the 2-2 conference outcome.
Sherman (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) {in photo to right} was honored as Player of the Week after his complete game, shut-out win over Pitt-Bradford.  The junior right-hander struck out 10 batters while allowing just two hits and two walks during the 6-0 victory. Two days later, he secured the 10-8 win over Franciscan University when he closed the game with two strike-outs in the sixth and seventh innings.
Hilbert split with both Bradford and Franciscan University improving to 3-7 AMCC and 4-16 overall.
