HAMBURG, NY – The Hilbert College men’s soccer team suffered a loss to AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford on October 5, 3-1. Hilbert’s record drops to 0-11-1 for the season, and 0-3 in AMCC play. Pitt-Bradford improves their league record to 4-0, with an overall record of 4-5-1.
Eric Russell tallied his second goal of the season with the assist coming from teammate Ed Sarcione who one-touched it back for the rocket to the upper 90. Keeper Kamil Cislak recorded seven saves for the night. It was a physical game for both teams; the Panthers won the shots on goal battle (22-11) and corner kicks (12-6) but the obvious stat were the fouls called against Hilbert (18-5).
Pitt-Bradford had a balanced scoring attack, with goals coming from Korbin Keen, Shane Gebert, and Toby Abdul-Razaq (PK). All of the scoring for the game was done in the first period. Abdul-Razaq and Clint Corman each had an assist.
The Hilbert men will be back in action on Saturday, October 8 when they will host another AMCC challenger Mount Aloysius at 1pm.
