HAMBURG, NY- Penn State Altoona scored three goals in the first-half and cruised to an 8-0 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win over the Hilbert College men’s soccer team on Saturday. The loss drops the Hawks 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the AMCC.
The visiting Lions were paced by two-goal scorers Tim Morris and Sean Rhodes while keepers Jim Rosato and Brad Baldwin combined for the shutout win. A stiff Lions defense prevented the Hawks from getting a shot on goal during the 90 minute stanza.
Hawks goalie Josh Griffey (Holland, NY/Holland) recorded four saves before being replaced with Adam Eaton (Sardinia, NY/Pioneer) who stopped seven shots in a losing effort.
Hilbert is off until Saturday, September 30th when the Hawks travel to the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg for a 3:00 pm game.
