WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Waynesburg College men’s soccer team recorded a 6-3 win over visiting Hilbert College Monday in NCAA Division III soccer action.  The loss drops the Hawks to 0-2 on the young season.

Trung Luong (West Falls, NY/West Seneca West) got Hilbert on the board early but the Hawks surrendered two quick goals to end the first half down 2-1.

Waynesburg scored four more in the second half while the Hawks managed to get goals from Jacob Opala (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West), and Tim Jordan (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) to round out the scoring.

For Opala, his second goal of the season puts him as Hilbert’s all-time leader in goals scored with 23 for his career.

The Hawks travel to SUNY Institute of Technology Sept. 10 for a 4 p.m. game against the Wildcats.
