Opala Leads Men’s Soccer To First Win

Jacob Opala (W. Seneca West/West Seneca, NY) scored 4 goals and Chris Fassl (Kenmore West/Kenmore, NY) added 2 assists to lead the Hilbert College men’s soccer team to a 5-1 win over visiting D’Youville College on Saturday.
The win improves the Hawks record to 1-3 on the season and gives head coach Kevin Mahoney his first collegiate coaching victory.
The Hilbert offense attempted 31 shots against the Spartans, while Hawks goalkeeper Marc Gaylor (Hinsdale Central/Hinsdale, NY) recorded 7 saves to secure the win.
The Hawks next game will be Wednesday on the road against Penn State-Behrend.
