Cross Country at Atlantic Regional Championships

LETCHWORTH, NY – The 2009 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Cross Country Championships were held on November 14 at Letchworth State Park. The event drew 42 teams who competed in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Of the 38 complete teams running, SUNY Cortland was the team champion on the men’s side with 49 points; the individual winner of the men’s 8K race was the 2008 National Division III champion from Hamilton College. Senior Peter Kosgei finished in a time of 24:40.6 with a 4:58 mile pace. In the women’s division, of the 33 teams running, St. Lawrence was the team champion with 43 points. The individual 6K race winner was junior Wendy Pavlus from St. Lawrence University with a time of 21:22.0, averaging 5:44 mile pace.
