Hawks Fly at AMCC Championships

The Hilbert College cross country program competed at the 2008 AMCC Cross Country Championships hosted my Penn State Altoona. The men’s race took place on an 8,000m track, while the women raced on a 6,000m course. The men’s team placed 9th overall while the women’s team placed 6th.
On the men’s side, junior Tillman Davis (Utica, NY/Notre Dame High School), paced the Hawks with a time of 41:12. Senior Mark Smith (Palmerson North, New Zealand/Plamerson North) recorded a time of 43:19. Sophomore Chris Spence (New York, NY/St. Agres Middletown) recorded a time of 44:17.
On the women’s side, the Hawks ran a very strong race. The 6th place finish was among their best performances of the year. Junior Amanda Phillips (Cheektowaga, NY/Cleveland Hill) placed 30th overall with a time of 29:13. Junior Maggie Fage (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) recorded a time of 30:14, placing her 33rd overall. Junior Amanda Trickey (Clifton Springs, NY/Canandaigua Academy) placed 35th overall with a time of 30:21. Freshmen Laura Wilson (Buffalo, NY/Grover Cleveland) and Jill Cohen (Buffalo, NY/Kenmore East) recorded times of 31:08 and 55:31 respectively.
The AMCC Championships were the final event of the season for the Hawks.
