Roman Brown (Buffalo, NY/South Park) has been named Hilbert College’s Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2009 for his contributions to the men’s basketball team.

Brown has had a fast start to his rookie campaign this year. Of the six games played in November, Brown started one time, but became a steady contributor averaging 27 minutes per game.

He scored a total of 64 points, had 10 assists, 5 blocks and 6 steals by the end of his first month of collegiate competition. His per game averages in November were 10.7 ppg (45% FG), team leading free throw percentage (77%) and 6.7 rebounds for the Hawks whose record was 1-5.

For his efforts at the Mutual Benefit Group/Doc Greene Invitational the first weekend of the season, Brown was the only Hawk players named to the All Tournament Team after averaging 13.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, while shooting 60% from the floor during the 2 day event. His career high scoring output was 14 points on November 20 against the host team, Juniata College.

Brown is currently enrolled in the Business Administration degree program and is expected to graduate in the spring of 2013.
