HAMBURG, NY – Hilbert College head men’s basketball coach Rob deGrandpre has announced the addition of Fran Snyder to the Hawks coaching staff. Snyder will assist with all facets of the men’s basketball program including recruiting, scouting, practice, and game-day coaching.
Snyder comes to Hilbert after an outstanding playing career at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where he was a four-year all-conference selection from 2002-2006. In his first year with the Tigers the 6’4 guard earned Rookie of the Year honors in the Empire 8 Conference. He capped a brilliant senior season by garnishing team MVP honors while landing a spot on the all-conference first team. Snyder was also recognized with the RIT Stephen King Sportsmanship Award at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season, and became the 20th player in program history to score more than 1,000 points in a career. A criminal justice major at RIT, Snyder led the Tigers to the 2003 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Upstate Championship.
Over the past four years, Snyder has coached at several summer basketball camps including the RIT Team camp as well as the Hilbert College basketball camp.
Snyder currently resides in Buffalo, NY.
