Hawks Round Out Season With A Victory

The Hilbert College baseball team closed out their season with a 5-3 victory over Brockport State in a nine inning game April 29, 2009. The win improves the Hawk's record to 10-28 overall.
The game was tied 2-2 after six innings. Hilbert showing resolve, scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 5-2 lead. Brockport managed to put a run on the board in the top of the ninth, but it would not be enough to surpass the Hawks.
Freshman Matt Militello (Depew, NY/Lancaster) was 3-4 on the day with an RBI and two runs scored.
Keith Somerville (Westfalls, NY/Holland) was 1-4 on the day with two RBIs.
Freshman Nick Sherman (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) allowed just four hits and 3 runs, while striking out 11 in the complete game victory.
