HAMBURG - The Athletics Department at Hilbert College is seeking one graduate assistant for the 2011-2012 academic year. The G.A. will have an opportunity to be involved in the full spectrum of directing a NCAA Division III athletics program. The candidate will be the primary coordinator for game management and in-game promotions supporting a full complement of twelve varsity teams hosting home events. This person will also support the Sports Information Director (with duties to include writing press releases, creating game-day programs, writing post-game recaps) as well as other duties assigned within the athletics department.

Successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, experience with sports information director duties, a journalism or related field experience in college athletics and be accepted into and/or attending graduate school. Candidate should possess passion to create a positive student-athlete experience; possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise a staff; possess strong writing/editing and organization skills; possess ability to work independently with a focus on attention to detail, and a willingness to work evenings and weekend hours. Experience with statistical, layout and design computer software is helpful, but not required.

The Graduate Assistant will receive a yearly $6,000 stipend and a tuition waiver each semester to be applied towards graduate school. This one-year appointment is a 10-month position.
