Buffalo, NY – The Hilbert women’s soccer team struggled to find the back of the net in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference league game against D’Youville College on October 11. The 90 minute rain-delayed game resulted in a 2-1 loss to the cross-town rivals. The Hawks are 1-4 in the AMCC and 4-9 overall. The match between the Spartans and the Hawks was tight despite the weather conditions delaying the match. D’Youville took a 1-0 lead into half time and extended that lead at the 70 minute mark off a scored penalty kick. Junior captain Alyssa Hulbert (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) scored the lone goal for the Hawks (78th minute) giving her 9 goals for the season (18 points). Goalkeeper Mary Zinni (Batavia, NY/Batavia) made 4 saves for the Hawks.
The Hawks look to get back on track Saturday, October 16th at home against La Roche College with a start time of 1pm.
