Hamburg, NY – The Hilbert men’s soccer team lost 2-1 against SUNY Morrisville on Tuesday, September 7th . The set-back drops their overall record to 0-2. After dominating the Mustangs the first 30 minutes, the visitors scored two quick goals in a span of two minutes sending the Hawks to the locker room in a hole.
Hilbert continued to dominate play in the second half and finally put a goal on the board at the 74th minute. Sophomore James Knapp (Lockport, NY/ St. Mary’s – Lancaster) fed a long breakaway pass to first year forward, Shawn Colvin (Elma, NY/ Iroquois) {in photo to right} who slotted the ball in the lower left corner of the net past the Morrisville keeper. Hilbert led in shots (16 -10) over the feisty Mustangs (2-1) but just didn't get one on target to hit the back of the net.
