Students can maximize their performance by supporting classroom instruction with one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions. Our tutoring services enable students, in a supportive learning environment, to develop the skills and techniques necessary to be successful learners. The role of a tutor is to teach students how to maximize, expand and improve their academic skills so they become active participants in the learning process. A major plus with Hilbert's tutoring program is that faculty, professional and peer tutors are available.
Tutoring by Appointment
Professional tutors and peer tutors are available by appointment. Stop by Academic Services, view the tutoring board, then sign up or obtain contact information for the selected tutor.
Don't see a tutor for a specific subject area you need assistance with? Fill out a tutoring request form, hand it in at the front desk and a tutor will be found for you!
Professional Tutors Every Friday - no appointment necessary!
Join us on Fridays when we have professional and faculty tutors available for writing, research, math and accounting assistance. Stop in Academic Services for specific information.
How to Become a Peer Tutor
If you are interested in becoming a peer tutor then we have a job for you. You must be currently enrolled at Hilbert, have received an "A" in the course of study you are interested in tutoring and have three faculty recommendations. Stop by the Academic Services Center in 107 Bogel Hall, or call 649-7900, ext. 324 for more information, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com about your interest in tutoring.
